Universal City, CA, August 17, 2006 – Alan Voss has been named Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Universal Music Distribution (UMD), the music distribution and sales division of Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), it was announced today by Jim Urie, President, UMGD.

Mr. Voss joins Universal Music after a long sales history in the music industry. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of WEA Corp. where he was responsible for the company’s daily operations. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Elektra from 1997 to 2000. His background also includes senior sales positions with PolyGram, Atco and East West.
