SANTA MONICA, DECEMBER 5, 2016 – Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment, today announced the company has the most executives for a third straight year on Billboard’s annual Women in Music Awards, which honor 2016’s standout female artists and executives.

UMG executives returning to this year’s list include Executive Vice President Michele Anthony, Universal Music Publishing Group Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sales Candace Berry, Republic Records Executive Vice President Wendy Goldstein, Motown Records President and Universal Music Publishing Group President of Urban Music Ethiopia Habtemariam, Capitol Music Group Chief Operating Officer Michelle Jubelirer, Universal Music Group Nashville President Cindy Mabe, Interscope Geffen A&M President of Promotion Brenda Romano and Harvest Records and Caroline General Manager Jacqueline Saturn.

New additions to this year’s list from UMG and the company’s distributed labels include Decca Records U.K. Managing Director Rebecca Allen, Def Jam Records Senior Vice President of A&R Operations Leesa Brunson, Capitol Music Group Senior Vice President of Media Strategy and Relations Ambrosia Healy and Disney Music Group Vice President of Sales and Digital Karen Lieberman.

In addition, Billboard is recognizing several UMG’s artists. Billboard named Madonna (Interscope) its “Woman of the Year” and will present Shania Twain (Mercury Nashville) with the magazine’s “Icon” award. Alessia Cara (Def Jam) is receiving the “Rule Breaker” award and Halsey (Capitol) will be presented with the “Rising Star” award.

Hailee Steinfeld (Republic) is set to host and perform at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony on Friday, December 9, in New York. The event, which will also feature performances by Alessia Cara and Halsey, will air nationally on Monday, December 12, on Lifetime.
