UMVD HONORS THE LOS ANGELES REGION WITH HENRY DROZ AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN ARTIST DEVELOPMENT
Santa Monica, California, August 30, 2005 – Jim Urie, President of Universal Music and Video Distribution (UMVD), the U.S. sales and distribution division of Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company, recently awarded the Los Angeles region with the Henry Droz Award for Outstanding Achievement in Artist Development – the company’s highest honor. This annual award, named for UMVD’s late Chairman Emeritus, recognizes the regional team that has the greatest impact on the sales of developing artists.
This is the second time the Los Angeles region, led by Market Director Linda Kury and Sales Manager John Kiernan, has achieved this honor. Other regional teams which have won the award in the past include Washington, D.C., Boston, Atlanta and Seattle.
