Rio De Janeiro, May 16, 2016 – Paulo Lima has been appointed President of Universal Music Brazil. Based in Rio de Janeiro, Lima reports to Jesús Lopez, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Latin America and Iberian Peninsula. He succeeds José Eboli, who has led Universal Music Brazil since 2003.

With vast knowledge and 25 years of experience in the Digital, Mobile Telecom and Internet markets as well as a successful career in the music industry, in his most recent role Lima was partner and CEO of Imusica S.A., the leading digital music company in Latin America, developing download and streaming digital distribution platforms for digital music services such as Claro Musica.

He started his career in 1989 as a sound and maintenance Engineer at the biggest studios in Brazil, Impressão Digital Studios & Nas Nuvens Studios and worked at record labels such as Som Livre and Polygram. From 1996 to 2006 he was founding partner and CEO of Ground Control Professional Audio, a company specializing in engineering design, installation and maintenance of professional audio in Brazil and Florida.

Lima holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and has received multiple international awards and nominations, including numerous Latin Grammys, as a recording and Pro Tools engineer.
