MATT VOSS APPOINTED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT MARKETING STRATEGY AND PLANNING
LONDON, 22 July, 2013 — Matt Voss has been appointed Executive Vice President Marketing Strategy and Planning it was announced today by Andrew Kronfeld, Universal Music’s President, Global Marketing, to whom he reports. Voss, who is currently based in New York as EVP of International, East Coast Labels, will transfer to London over the summer to start his new position on September 1.
In this new role Voss will work closely with Kronfeld to coordinate the global marketing of Universal Music’s key releases, review and enhance all marketing systems worldwide including developing best practice and training programmes, liaise with internal stakeholders such as commercial affairs and new business teams and oversee various global marketing projects and initiatives as required.
Voss has a long history with Universal Music and its labels. He joined East Coast Labels in 2011 having previously spent six years as SVP International at Island Def Jam. During this time he worked with artists including Kanye West, Bon Jovi, Jessie J, Rihanna, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, The Killers, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber and NeYo. Before moving to New York he was VP, Marketing at Universal Music Group International in London having started his career in a number of roles at MCA Records and Virgin Records in both London and New York.

It has been a true honour to work for Barry Weiss, Ivan Gavin, Monte Lipman and Steve Bartels – who originally hired me in New York – and I shall miss them and my team at UMG New York.”
A successor to Voss at East Coast Labels will be announced in due course.
