    The Story: Your Vegas
An Interview with Your Vegas' Republic Records A&R

When did you first hear Your Vegas’ music? How did it make it to your hands? MySpace?
We heard Your Vegas through word of mouth. They were starting to get some exciting feedback here in NYC and we started to look a little deeper to see what it was all about. The first time we heard the music was when our good friend Rich gave us a CD.

What interested/excited you most about Your Vegas?
It was all about the music for us. Their songs are compelling and original yet still build on the history of alternative pop and post punk. Their music has shades of Big Country, New Order, The Killers and Simple Minds. It’s all blended together, of course, creating a fiercely self confident and immediate sound.

What did Your Vegas' music make you feel?
Your Vegas’ music made me feel inspired. Their songs have a majestic quality about them. Your Vegas music makes you feel as though you’re being taken on a journey. Some bands might come across as a punch in the face and other as a fragmented collage that may flirt with some sort of emotional payoff that never comes. Your Vegas, on the other hands, write songs that build and deliver.

When did you know that Your Vegas would be the next sensation?
The moment that they informed me that they would be!

What about Your Vegas has you passionate about working with them?
Their vision is tireless and their work ethic is extraordinary. Upon meeting them for the first time, they knew exactly who they wanted to be and how they wanted to sound.

Who would you say Your Vegas reminds you most of?
At the moment they remind me most of The Killers; A brand new band with a brand new sound that is both fresh and timeless.

What track on A Town and Two Cities was the most difficult/fun/interesting/etc to do?
I think they were all fun, interesting and difficult to do! Hahaha. That said, I LOVE “Birds of Paradise”. If Bruce Springsteen was born in Leeds, that could have been his song!

Who would you like to get Your Vegas in the studio with / do you have any interesting collaborations on their upcoming album?
I’d like to get them in the studio with Mario Batalli so we can all have a nice long meal and few cases of wine together. I’d invite Ric Rubin for an after dinner cocktail.

Describe Your Vegas in 10 words or less…
YOU CAN’T INSURE SUCCESS; YOU CAN INSURE YOU DESERVE IT

What can the world expect from Your Vegas?
    Domination.
