JULIE GIBBS APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES, NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP DISTRIBUTION
Universal City, CA, July 13, 2006 — Julie Gibbs has been appointed Vice President of Sales, New Business Development for Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), it was announced today by Jim Urie, President, UMGD.
Based at UMGD’s headquarters in Universal City, Ms. Gibbs will oversee sales strategies for “non-traditional” businesses, focusing on retailers who don’t necessarily specialize in entertainment products. She will work to increase visibility and sales for UMGD artists in these retail channels.
“This segment of the retail world has huge untapped potential for our company,” commented Mr. Urie. “Julie’s perspective and expertise will be a tremendous asset as we build this new division.”
Most recently, Ms. Gibbs worked for Electronic Arts where she managed sales and marketing objectives in a variety of retail channels ranging from distribution, specialty, online, to wholesale clubs.
