FONTANA AND THE [PIAS] GROUP UNITE FOR DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT
Los Angeles, California, June 4, 2007 – Fontana, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company, has signed an exclusive distribution deal with [PIAS] America, the US label of the [PIAS] Group, and Vital, the UK’s premier independent distribution company, which is part of the [PIAS] Group, it was announced today by Bryan Mead, Fontana’s Vice President of Marketing and Label Relations, and [PIAS] founders Kenny Gates and Michel Lambot.
As part of the deal, Fontana will act as the marketing arm for [PIAS] America, the US home for the [PIAS] Group in-house labels including Wall Of Sound, [PIAS] Recordings, Different and FCOM. The [PIAS] America catalog includes classic albums by artists such as Sigur Ros, St. Germain and Felix Da Housecat.

New albums scheduled for 2007 on [PIAS] America include Mogwai’s celebrated soundtrack to “Zidane, A 21st Century Portrait,” a new album by former Snow Patrol member Iain Archer and Amp Fiddler’s longplayer Afro Strut, which features contributions from the likes of Raphael Saadiq and Corinne Bailey Rae.
