ELISE WRIGHT APPOINTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, URBAN MUSIC FOR UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC RECORDS
New York, New York, November 13, 2007 – Elise Wright has been appointed Senior Vice President of Urban Music for Universal Republic Records, it was announced today by Monte Lipman, President & CEO of the label.
“Elise and I have shared a great working relationship in the past,” stated Mr. Lipman. “She possesses a rare combination of talents, from her unique strategic insight into urban music’s changing landscape to a wealth of marketing experience. The entire Universal Republic family is delighted to welcome her onboard.”
In her new role, Ms. Wright will report to Mr. Lipman.

Prior to Universal Republic, Ms. Wright served as Vice President of Marketing for Universal Motown. While there, she was responsible for developing new and established platinum and multi-platinum stars including Chamillionaire, Akon, Toni Braxton and India.Arie, among many others. She has played a crucial role in the visual development of Motown and Universal Motown artists for several years.
In 2003 Ms. Wright was appointed to Vice President of Video Promotions for Universal Motown. Prior to that appointment she was Senior Director of Video Promotion for Universal Motown. In both those roles, Ms. Wright was responsible for the strategic visual marketing campaigns of several key artists, including Stevie Wonder, Nelly, India.Arie, Erykah Badu, Brian McKnight, David Banner and Akon, among others.
From 1995 to 2000 Ms. Wright was Director of Publicity and Media Relations for Motown, helping to coordinate the media campaigns surrounding Motown’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, including the 1998 SuperBowl XXXII Halftime Show, and an ABC TV documentary.
