UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP PROMOTES ANDREW KRONFELD TO PRESIDENT OF GLOBAL MARKETING



Industry leader realigns marketing structure to enhance worldwide reach

LONDON, August 30, 2011 - Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company, has promoted Andrew Kronfeld to the newly created position of President, Global Marketing. The appointment was announced today by Max Hole, Chief Operating Officer, Universal Music Group International (UMGI), to whom Mr. Kronfeld will report. For the past two years, Mr. Kronfeld has served as Executive Vice President, International Marketing, UMGI. He will continue to be based in New York and London.

In this new post, Mr. Kronfeld, 42, will be responsible for developing and driving unified, global marketing strategies to support and advance the success of Universal Music’s world-class roster of artists. This includes coordinating the release, promotion and marketing of all UMG’s international frontline and catalogue priorities. Mr. Kronfeld also has responsibility for Cooperative Music, UMG’s alternative international licensing organisation, and for the development of rock label Spinefarm.

Mr. Kronfeld joined Universal Music in 1991, and his tenure has included marketing and senior management posts at Island Records, Universal Motown Records, and Universal Music Group International.
