SHARON TUNSTALL APPOINTED SENIOR VIDE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES, NORTH AMERICA, UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP
Los Angeles - June 2, 2000 - Sharon S. Tunstall has been named Senior Vice President, Human Resources, North America, Universal Music Group, it was announced today by Jonathan Smilansky, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Human Resources, Universal Music Group.
Based in Los Angeles, Ms. Tunstall reports directly to Zach Horowitz, President and COO, Universal Music Group, and Norman Epstein, Executive Vice President, Universal Music Group. Responsible for human resources within North America, Ms. Tunstall works closely with the global human resources team, developing and implementing workforce strategy and employee programs.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Tunstall served as Vice President, Human Resources for The Times Mirror Company where she worked on employment policies, workforce management, and compensation/benefits. In 1998, she was Senior Vice-President, Corporate/Administration for Sega GameWorks LLC., overseeing all functions of not only human resources but information technology and corporate office operations. Ms. Tunstall also served as Vice President, Human Resources for Nike, Inc. During her tenure there, she oversaw all global staff functions, led the development of the company’s human resources structure, and ultimately helped establish Nike’s U.S. business as a separate unit. In addition, Ms. Tunstall worked for several years at a multi-billion dollar advertising agency, D’Arcy, Masius, Benton and Bowles, Inc. where she served in various capacities including Senior Vice President, Human Resources, North America.
Ms. Tunstall holds a Ph.D. in Political Science/Public Affairs and a M.A. in International Relations from University of Houston.
