UNIVERSAL MUSIC LATIN ENTERTAINMENT (UMLE) ANNOUNCES SENIOR LABEL APPOINTMENTS FOLLOWING CLOSE OF UNIVISION MUSIC ACQUISITION

Senior Execs Named For UMLE, Universal Music Latino, Machete, Fonovisa and Disa



Miami, FL/New York, NY, June 13, 2008 - Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE), a division of Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company, today announced several new senior executive appointments to its subsidiaries Universal Music Latino, Machete, Fonovisa and Disa. The appointments follow the recent close by Universal Music of its acquisition of Univision Music Group, making UMLE the North American market leader in Latin music. The appointments were announced today by Walter Kolm, President of Universal Music Latino and Machete, and Gustavo Lopez, President of Disa and Fonovisa, and include:

* Universal Music Latin Entertainment (reporting to Mr. Kolm and Mr. Lopez)

    - Skander Goucha to Vice President of Digital and Mobile

* Universal Music Latino (reporting to Mr. Kolm)

    - Luis Estrada to General Manager

* Machete (reporting to Mr. Kolm)

    - Mickey Hernandez to General Manager

* Disa (reporting to Mr. Lopez)

    - Carlos Ruiz to General Manager of Disa US and Mexico

In addition, Mr. Lopez will also act as interim General Manager for Fonovisa.

“Skander, Luis, Mickey and Carlos are truly talented creative executives with broad experience that encompasses recording, digital, sales and marketing,” stated Messrs. Kolm and Lopez. “They represent the very best from both Universal and Univision, and we could not ask for a better team on our frontlines.”

Most recently, Mr. Goucha served as Director of Digital Business/New Media for Universal Music Latino. Previously, Mr. Goucha managed mobile marketing and operations at Universal Music Latin America. Prior to joining UMG’s Latin music division, he was in charge of developing mobile music products and services across Europe at Universal Music Mobile International. Mr. Goucha joined UMG in 2000 as a part of Vivendi’s internet team. He is a graduate of École Polytechnique (Paris, France) and holds a Master’s degree in finance from École Nationale de la Startistique et de l’Administration Économique (Paris, France).

Mr. Estrada has served as Senior Label Manager of Universal Music Latino since 2005, where he planned, directed and executed highly successful marketing and promotion campaigns for such chart-topping artists as Juanes, Enrique Iglesias, Paulina Rubio, Luis Fonsi, Belanova and Cristian Castro, among many others. Formerly, he worked as Manager and A&R of the "Rock en Español" Division as well as Latin Product Manager for Universal Music Mexico. While there, Mr. Estrada worked with such artists as Control Machete, Daddy Yankee, Los Pericos and Inspector, among others. Mr. Estrada joined Universal in 2001 from TV Azteca's Music Division, where he held the position of Marketing Manager for pop and rock. Among the artists with whom he worked at TV Azteca included teen idol group Uff and legendary rock singer Miguel Rios. His background also includes co-owning independent music label Discos Dedo.

Prior to joining UMLE, Mr. Hernandez served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Machete. Formerly, Mr. Hernandez worked at VI Music as Marketing Director. Throughout his career, Mr. Hernandez has worked with such chart-topping artists as Don Omar, Wisin Y Yandel and Elvis Crispo, among many others.

Mr. Ruiz Diaz previously held the position of Vice President and General Manager of Disa Records. Formerly, he served as Finance and Operations Director at Univision Music Group México. Prior to joining Univision, Mr. Ruiz Diaz worked for Warner Music in a number of key areas, including Warner Music Brazil, where he served as an Operations and Finance consultant, at Metro Casa Musical (MCM), where he was Managing Director, and at Warner Music Mexico, where he worked in Finance and Commercial activities.
