MONTEIRO APPOINTED SENIOR VP, UNIVERSAL MUSIC SOUTH EAST ASIA

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 5, 2007 – At Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s largest music company, Sandy Monteiro has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Universal Music South East Asia.

The appointment was announced today by Max Hole, President, Asia Pacific Region, Universal Music Group International, to whom Monteiro reports.

Monteiro assumes responsibility for Universal Music operations in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, with the heads of those territories reporting to him. He continues in his current post as Managing Director, Universal Music Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur.

Monteiro will also retain his role as Vice President, Digital, Universal Music South East Asia, excluding China.

Max Hole commented, “Sandy has made significant contributions to our business in South East Asia. First and foremost, he is a music man, and has also proved to be a great manager and motivator of people. Moreover, in the all-important digital arena, he has demonstrated knowledge, skill and an ability to think strategically. This combination of talents makes Sandy ideally suited for this new post.”

Monteiro joined Universal Music as Managing Director in Malaysia in December 2002, adding responsibility for UMGI’s digital business in South East Asia in June 2006. Previously, he held posts at Warner Music, MCA, Recording Industry Association of Malaysia, and Soundbuzz.

The heads of Universal Music companies in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea and Taiwan continue to report directly to Max Hole.
