UNIVERSAL MUSIC DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCES KEY APPOINTMENTS IN NATIONAL SALES DIVISION
Universal City, CA, April 18, 2007 - Universal Music Distribution (UMD), the award-winning sales and marketing division of Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company, has made several key appointments in its National Sales division. This was announced today by Joy Slusarek, Senior Vice President, National Sales, UMD.
Kurt McDermott has been promoted to Vice President of Mass Merchants. Mr. McDermott most recently served as Senior Director of Mass Merchants, UMD.
“Kurt’s strategic experience with major vendors in other industries is valuable as we look to find new and enhanced opportunities with our rack and mass merchant customers,” stated Ms. Slusarek.
Vince Szydlowski has been promoted to Vice President of National Sales. Mr. Szydlowski was most recently Senior Director of Catalog, Classics, Jazz and Associated Labels for UMD, overseeing sales strategy for the various groups.
“Vince has been an integral leader of our catalog initiatives for several years and we are thrilled to capitalize on his skills and expand his scope to help manage our overall national sales efforts,” commented Ms. Slusarek.
Gary Kelly has been appointed Vice President of National Sales. Mr. Kelly comes to the company from Sony BMG where he was Regional Sales Manager for the West Coast and Southwest Regions.
“Gary is a poised leader and also has a natural curiosity that makes him an ideal addition to the UMD sales management team. He has immediately made a strong impact with our labels, accounts and sales staff,” said Ms. Slusarek.
Mr. McDermott, Mr. Szydlowski and Mr. Kelly will all report to Ms. Slusarek.
