JOY SLUSAREK PROMOTED TO SVP OF NATIONAL SALES, UNIVERSAL MUSIC DISTRIBUTION
Universal City, California, March 27, 2007 — Universal Music Distribution (UMD), the award-winning sales and marketing division of Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s leading music company, has promoted Joy Slusarek to Senior Vice President of National Sales. The announcement was made today by Alan Voss, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the company.
Based at the company’s headquarters in Universal City, Ms. Slusarek will be responsible for managing the national sales division. She will also work to increase the division’s national sales growth and oversee such key retail accounts as Amazon, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Transworld and Wal*Mart.
“Since joining UMD, I have been very impressed with the caliber of people within the organization,” said Mr. Voss. “Joy is an absolute asset who will help position UMD as an industry leader, capably addressing the evolving needs of our business and our customers.”
Ms. Slusarek joined UMGD in 1994 as a Product Development Manager in St. Louis. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to Sales Representative in Philadelphia where she handled both regional and national accounts. In 2004, while managing the Circuit City account, she was voted a UMGD Star Performer. Most recently, Ms. Slusarek served as Vice President of UMD’s National Sales Division.
Ms. Slusarek received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Syracuse University.
