August, 1, 2006- NEW YORK, NY - Multiplatinum-selling Universal Motown Records artist Chamillionaire made history this week by selling over 3 million mastertones of his chart-topping hit single, "Ridin'," making the hit song the most downloaded mastertone to date. A mastertone, or ringtone, is an edit of a song's master recording which can be purchased by consumers to personalize their cell phone's ringtone. "Ridin'" also holds the distinction of being the fastest selling mastertone of all time, selling over 2 million units within just four months of its release.

"This an enormous achievement, and speaks to not only the reach of mobile music, but certainly, to the power of Chamillionaire's artistry and music," stated David Ellner, Senior Vice President of Universal Motown Records Group.

"We are thrilled that Chamillionaire made music history with America's most downloaded mastertone," added Rio Caraeff, Vice President and General Manager of Universal Music Mobile - US (UMM-US). "This highlights the marriage between music and mobile, and is a testament to the strength of both industries. We are especially thankful to all the fans and our mobile partners for helping us make "Ridin'" so successful."
