ADAM LOWENBERG APPOINTED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING, ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP

(July 14, 2006 – New York, NY) Adam Lowenberg has been appointed Senior Vice President, Marketing, Island Records, it was announced today by Steve Bartels, President, Island Records and COO of Island Def Jam Music Group.

In his new role, Mr. Lowenberg will oversee all marketing activities on behalf of Island Records. The Island product managers will report directly to Mr. Lowenberg and he will be responsible for coordinating, focusing and bringing to market all of the key Island Records releases including The Killers, Fall Out Boy, The Bravery, Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Sum 41 and more. Mr. Lowenberg, will be based in New York.

“We are excited for Adam to begin his new role at IDJ” said Mr. Bartels. “We are looking forward to his marketing expertise, energy and dedication to the great music and artists we are set to launch”.

Mr. Lowenberg comes to IDJ from Virgin Records, where he was Senior Vice President, Marketing, since last year. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, Marketing, Arista Records, since 2001, when he was named Executive Of the Year. He began his career in music in 1990, as an assistant in the Marketing Department of Chrysalis Records. In 1992, Mr. Lowenberg joined EMI Records as Marketing Coordinator, advancing to Manager of Sales in 1994, then a year later to Product Manager. He joined Arista in 1997, as Associate Director, Marketing, and was promoted to Director the following year, which post he held until his promotion to Vice President. Mr. Lowenberg was graduated from Ithaca College in 1990, where he received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
