DAVID ZIERLER PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & FINANCE FOR FONTANA
Universal City, California, July 10, 2006 – David Zierler has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development and Finance for Fontana, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD). The announcement was made today by Steve Pritchitt, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Fontana. Formerly, Zierler served as Director of Business Development and Finance.

Since its inception little more than a year ago, Fontana has amassed one of the most diverse and extensive rosters of partner labels in the business, including Vagrant, VP Records, Quango, DRT Entertainment, Hiero Imperium, Mad Science, Rendevous Entertainment, Global Underground and American Gramaphone, among dozens of others. Fontana has already scored hits with such artists as Lil Rob (Upstairs Records), DJ Quik (Mad Science), Sevendust (Winedark Records) and Saves the Day (Vagrant), among others.
Prior to joining Fontana, Zierler served as the Director of Sales Analysis for UMGD. His background also includes stints at venture capital firm, ITU Ventures, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
