DMITRY KONNOV APPOINTED TO GENERAL MANAGER, UNIVERSAL MUSIC RUSSIA
LONDON, November 22, 2005 - Dmitry Konnov has been appointed as General Manager of Universal Music Russia, with immediate effect. The appointment was announced today by Vico Antippas, President, Central & Eastern Europe, at Universal Music Group International, to whom he will report.
Konnov, 34, assumes responsibility for all aspects of the operations of the Moscow-based company. Previously, he held several posts at MTV Russia, most recently as Vice President, Marketing, Public Relations and Music Industry Relations. His prior experience spans radio, TV, advertising and journalism.
Konnov succeeds David Junk, Managing Director of Universal Music Russia, who is leaving the company in December to return to his native U.S. Junk, working in conjunction with Universal Music Group’s Interscope Records, played a key role in the worldwide success of t.A.T.u., the Russian duo whose first album, 200/KM in the Wrong Lane, sold more than five million copies worldwide. Their second album, Dangerous and Moving, was released in September this year.
Junk joined PolyGram (now Universal Music) Russia the first western record company to establish a subsidiary in the country in 1996. He was promoted to Managing Director in 1999.

His experience in different sectors of the country’s music and media industries equips him well for the task.
