UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP SIGNS WORLDWIDE PUBLISHING AGREEMENT WITH NASHVILLE HIT-MAKER, SHANE MCANALLY

Nashville, TN, July 16, 2012— Universal Music Publishing Group today announced the signing of Nashville hit-maker, Shane McAnally and Smack Ink (ASCAP), to an exclusive, worldwide administration agreement.

Shane McAnally has established himself as one of Nashville’s most promising songwriters and artists after writing hits for Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack, Reba McEntire, Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, and Luke Bryan, to name a few. McAnally first gained respect in Music City’s songwriting scene after co-writing Lee Ann Womack’s Top 20 single “Last Call.” Since then, he has used his talents to pen the No.1 singles “Somewhere with You” by Kenny Chesney and “Alone with You” by Jake Owen.

Other tracks Shane McAnally has collaborated on include: “Neon” – Chris Young; “Mama’s Broken Heart” –Miranda Lambert; “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” – Luke Bryan; and the current Top 10 Hot Country Singles song “Come Over” – Kenny Chesney.

McAnally also recently completed production on the debut album for Universal Music Nashville recording artist, Kacey Musgraves (co-produced with Musgraves and UMPG writer Luke Laird).

“Shane McAnally is one of Nashville’s most celebrated songwriters in country music today,” said Kent Earls, Executive Vice President/General Manager, UMPG Nashville. “His career is red hot and we are thrilled at the opportunity to work with him in creating many more future hits.”

“I am excited to begin working with Universal Music Publishing and taking the first steps toward a long and successful partnership. Beyond global administration and licensing services, I’m especially looking forward to working closely with Kent Earls, Cyndi Forman (Vice President, Creative, UMPG Nashville) and the whole UMPG Creative team,” said Shane McAnally.

Already standing on a strong foundation of country hits, Shane McAnally brings Nashville his unique ability to combine classic storytelling with a contemporary twist. His lyrics capture life in the charismatic fashion that has defined country music for decades.
