NEW MARKETING STRUCTURE AT UNIVERSAL MUSIC MEXICO

MEXICO CITY, 30 APRIL, 2003 – Universal Music Mexico President Marco Bissi today announced a new marketing structure for the company, effective May 1, 2003.

Two new pop divisions – Local and International – have been created. These replace the previous structure of Mercury and Polydor divisions, which will no longer exist. Each of the new divisions will have its own promotion team.

The Local division will be headed by Humberto Calderón, formerly Director of the Mercury division. He and his team will handle all local and Latin product, with a special focus on the creation and development of new artists and repertoire in the Mexican music scene, and their international exploitation.

The International division will be headed by Clauzzen Hernandez, formerly Sub-Director of the Mercury Anglo division. Now Director, she and her team will be responsible for marketing repertoire from all labels represented by Universal Music International.

Both Mr. Calderon and Ms. Hernandez will report directly to Marco Bissi.

Commenting on the creation of the new divisions, Marco Bissi explained: "This new structure will enable us to focus and streamline our marketing investments in both local and international repertoire. It also reinforces our market leading position in international product and, at the same time, creates a substantial opportunity to increase the amount of quality music we release from local and international Spanish speaking artists."
