U2, Are Your Spidey Senses Tingling?
Broadway and comic book fans will most certainly be excited to learn of the new face to hit the live theater circuit – Spider-Man. The show “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” which director Julie Taymor has been working on for the past few years has finally been given an official premiere date, February 18th 2010 at the Hilton Theatre.
U2 fans will most likely want to see the show because of the musical talent behind both the show’s music and lyrics, Bono. The front man of the Irish rock band is responsible for everything that makes a Broadway show a musical, while Taymor is in charge of making it a reality.
Taymor and Bono had worked together in last years hit film “Across the Universe” which featured a storyline inspired by Beatle’s classics. Like the musical talent for the show, Taymor looked back at her past successes for her actors and has been conducting table readings with a number of the stars from “Across the Universe.” Although no casting has been done just yet, our Spidey senses are tingling with excitement and anticipation.
U2 fans should also know that the bands latest album "No Line On the Horizon" is due to be released on February 27th.
The track listings are:
1. NO LINE ON THE HORIZON
2. MAGNIFICENT
3. MOMENT OF SURRENDER
4. UNKNOWN CALLER
5. I'LL GO CRAZY IF I DON'T GO CRAZY TONIGHT
6. GET YOUR BOOTS
7. STAND UP COMEDY
8. FEZ - Being Born
