Sugarland Sweeps #1 with "Stay"

The passionate and powerful single "Stay", written by Sugarland lead vocalist Jennifer Nettles, swept the top of the charts this weekend granting the megawatt duo their third #1 single from two-time multi-platinum selling album Enjoy The Ride.

“Stay” also clinched the top spot in a ranking of the 20 most popular country music videos streamed on CMT.com and CMT Mobile for 2007. The #1 video was a major tool for Sugarland in helping them drive a deeper connection between themselves and the fans they love.

Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush make up country duo Sugarland who exploded onto the music scene in ‘04 with multi-platinum selling album Twice The Speed Of Life, which gave birth to mega hits “Baby Girl” and “Something More”. Their current album, Enjoy the Ride has already sold over two million copies and spawned #1 hits with “Want To”, “Settlin’” and “Stay”. Sugarland is credited with co-writing all tracks from both albums and co-producing the latter. They have also received trophies from the American Music Awards for “Breakthrough Favorite New Artist,” the Academy of Country Music for “New Duo/Group of the Year,” Country Music Television for “Collaborative Video of the Year” and “Duo Video of the Year,” and the Country Music Association for “Vocal Duo of the Year”. Nettles scored a Grammy in ‘07 for her collaboration with Bon Jovi for their #1 hit “Who Says You Can’t Go Home”.
