Steel Panther To Release Rockin' New Album, "Feel The Steel" in June
Lock up your daughters! Break out your hairspray - Los Angeles' premiere heavy metal band, Steel Panther, will be releasing their debut album, Feel The Steel, on Universal Republic Records June 9th. This mythical musical masterpiece has been 20 years in the making with the band returning in 2009 to reclaim their rightful place among metal music’s heavyweights. Powered by audacious frontman Michael Starr's fearless vocal charge, the group ignites audiences from every walk of life with their unbridled valentine that goes right for the jugular of the heavy metal repertoire. Joining the effervescent Starr are Steel Panther’s Stix Zadinia on drums, Satchel on guitar, and bassist Lexxi Foxxx.
As word of Steel Panther’s return began to spread around the music community, a who’s who of musical artists stepped up to join the band in reclaiming metals place among the top of the music landscape. Allison Robertson of the Donnas and Justin Hawkins from the Darkness make an appearance on the Steel Panther mantra number, “Party All Day.” Anthrax’s Scott Ian shows up on the soon to be international hit, “Asian Hooker” alongside Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, who also appears on the soon-to-be classics “Eyes Of A Panther” and the first single, “Death To All But Metal.” The single is already making waves at rock radio with programmers declaring, “…a very welcome ‘F U’ to anyone who’s ever questioned whether or not rock has attitude…” – Willie P KBPI/Denver, CO.
The four member band, known for their outrageous stage presence and gargantuan guitar riffs have been entertaining fans and scores of rock and entertainment VIPs with their raucous antics via L.A.'s longest running heavy metal show on the Sunset Strip for nearly a decade (now running at the infamous Key Club every Monday night). The band also holds residencies at the Green Valley Resort and Casino on Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas and the Typhoon Saloon in San Diego every Wednesday. UK metal magazine Kerrang recently attended a Steel Panther show and quickly professed: “Hair metal is back and it is here to **** your girlfriend.”
Known for their lively between-song banter and dead-on affirmation of metal's 'golden age,' the group's Universal Republic debut effort promises to exude the same Steel Panther bravado and irreverent vitality that has compelled a stable of revered artists join them on stage through the years, including Gene Simmons of Kiss, Dave Navarro, Tommy Lee, Perry Farrell, Billie Ray Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Hinder, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo.
With critics raving that their sold-out brand of 'unmistakable roaring rock' has put the fun back in music, the band also carries their unvarnished sense of excess over to their website, SteelPantherRocks.com, or their MySpace page - which embodies another stirring quality of Steel Panther - truth in advertising.
After 20 years in the making, it’s time to let the cat out of the cage.
