Rihanna’s “Take A Bow” Captures #1 on R&R Top 40 Chart!!

SRP/Def Jam Recordings artist Rihanna scores a winning trifecta on the charts today – as her never-ending smash hit single “Take A Bow” hits #1 on the R&R Top 40 chart – while her brand new single “Disturbia” debuts at #18-bullet on Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Also today, the new CD+DVD relaunch of Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded jet-propels the RIAA platinum album back inside Soundscan’s Top 10 to #7 with an 930% spike in sales – up to 63,319 copies in its first week out. The new package arrived in stores on June 17th – exactly one week after the original Good Girl Gone Bad officially marked its historic 55th week on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

It was just six weeks ago that “Take A Bow” rocketed to #1 from #53, one of the biggest jumps ever recorded in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart – giving Rihanna the third #1 Hot 100 single of her career, after “S.O.S.” (2006) and “Umbrella” (featuring Jay-Z, 2007). “Take A Bow” was written by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate, the same team responsible for Rihanna’s “Unfaithful” (of 2006), and “Hate That I Love You,” her Top 10 duet with Ne-Yo released late last year.

Starting with her live outdoor concert on NBC’s The Today Show last Friday, Rihanna is keeping a high profile on network television – including a follow-up appearance on ABC’s The View this week on Monday, and the annual BET Awards special on Tuesday. Look out for her next tv appearance July 9th, on CBS’s The Early Show.

Meanwhile, Rihanna is entering her third month as special guest on fellow Def Jam artist Kanye West’s “Glow in The Dark” 2008 North American tour, also starring Lupe Fiasco and N.E.R.D. On the road since April 16th in Seattle, the tour rolls on with dates on July 4th (Superdome, New Orleans); July 25th (Global Gathering Festival, U.K.); August 1st (Bank Arena, Cincinnati); August 3rd (Grant Park, Chicago); August 5th-6th (Madison Square Garden, New York City); and August 10th (Pimlico Race Track, Baltimore).

Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded reprises the original 12-song CD, source of the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit “Umbrella” (featuring Jay-Z), then “Shut Up and Drive,” “Hate That I Love You” (featuring Ne-Yo), and “Don't Stop the Music.” Three bonus tracks now augment the RELOADED program: 1) “Take A Bow”; 2) “If I Never See Your Face Again” featuring Maroon 5; and 3) “Disturbia.”

The newly-produced bonus DVD for Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded contains rare behind-the-scenes exclusive footage and four incredible live performances from Rihanna’s sold-out concert in Manchester, England last December 2007.

Good Girl Gone Bad (released June 5, 2007) was the third album release in less than two years by multi-platinum MTV VMA, Grammy, and American Music Award winning artist – and CoverGirl and Body By Milk spokesperson – Rihanna. It followed-up 2006’s RIAA platinum A Girl Like Me, containing the back-to-back hits, “S.O.S.” and “Unfaithful”; and her RIAA gold debut from 2005, Music Of the Sun, featuring the worldwide smash, “Pon De Replay.”
