Nelly Furtado Reaches Her First #1 On The Latin Radio Charts In The US And Puerto Rico
"Manos Al Aire" is also #2 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart
Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and producer, Nelly Furtado, who was #1 bestseller in 2007 with album Loose, is back and taking the radio charts by storm. Her single "Manos Al Aire" is #1 in the US and Puerto Rico on the Rhythm chart (week of August 24th). The single is also an hit in Germany and Italy, where it topped #1, in addition to success in Central America.
"Manos Al Aire" is the lead single of Mi Plan, Nelly's fourth studio album and her first sung completely in Spanish. It will be released globally, on September 14th internationally and 15th in the US.
Nelly's fans have also been checking out Mi Plan thanks to the "Countdown To", a promotion from iTunes. The promotion offers fans an exclusive three tracks from her upcoming album in advance of the official release date. "Más" was the first track released (July 21st), "Mi Plan" (featuring Alex Cuba) the second one, and the next track will be "Bajo Otra Luz" (featuring Julieta Venegas and La Mala Rodríguez) on September 11th. In addition, those who purchase one of the three exclusive tracks and the full album, Mi Plan, within two weeks of its release will receive a bonus track.
Mi Plan has also other fantastic collaborations from Josh Groban, and top Latin names such as Alejandro Fernández, Juan Luis Guerra, and Buika; giving a very special touch to the album.
Nelly Furtado has sold over 18 million albums in her career, and has received 31 Platinum albums in 31 countries.
