Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse Top iTunes Charts

Congrats to Maroon 5, whose album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, topped the iTunes album chart for 2007. All eyes were on the band’s follow-up to their debut smash, Songs About Jane and the new album clearly lived up to all the hype, with three great singles - "Makes Me Wonder", "Wake Up Call" and, the most recently released, "Won’t Go Home Without You".

In fact, all of the top three best selling albums on iTunes were from Universal Music. Just behind Maroon 5 was Amy Winehouse with Back to Black, the success of which was skyrocketed by her hit debut single, "Rehab". The acclaimed UK singer also has new live DVD out, called I Told You I Was Trouble.

Rounding out the top 3 is Kanye West’s Graduation, which received 8 Grammy nominations (Read: "Kanye West Dominates Grammy Season") and is acclaimed by many as the hottest and most adventurous hip-hop record of the year. The record launched with a slew of hits showcasing Kanye’s cleverest raps yet, including "Stronger", "Can't Tell Me Nothin'" and "Good Life".

Not only did Universal Music top the list of best-selling albums, but also ruled the iTunes Best of 2007 songs list, with 6 of the top 10. The list includes top tracks from Amy Winehouse, Keyshia Cole, Feist, Café Tacvba, Kanye West, and M.I.A.

The chart is hand-picked from all music released during the 2007 year from all musical genres. Universal Music Latino artists Café Tacvba had a big year taking the #6 spot with their single, "Volver A Comenzar". Other highlights include Grammy nominee Amy Winehouse at #2 spot for her hit "Rehab", Feist at #4 for "1234", M.I.A. at #10 with "Paper Planes," and Kanye West at #9 for "Good Life".
