Machete Music sets a historical precedent in the Urban section of the Latin charts by claiming a whopping 80% of the Latin Rhythm section of the Billboard sales charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The label, a division of the newly formed Universal Music Latin Entertainment, appears on the chart with a dozen of its artists, the most important and influential names in the genre.

Heading the list is reggaeton’s most popular duo, Wisin & Yandel, with their album, Los Extraterrestres, followed by Panamanian sensation La Factoria with Nuevas Metas, Tony Dize with La Melodia de la Calle, Mexican brothers Akwid with two albums, La Novela and Greatest Exitos, as well as newcomer MJ with his first album, Mi Sentimiento.

In addition, artists such as Hector El Father, with greatest hits album, La Trayectoria, Don Omar with King of Kings, Ivy Queen with Mi Sentimientio, Angel & Khriz with their album, Showtime, and Miguelito with the El Heredero and Baby Boy closes the prestigious list with Ya No Llores-Let Me Love You.

Since its initiation in 2005, Machete has strived to be the strongest exponent of urban music in the industry. The label’s force has undeniably placed it as the most successful company in Latin Urban Music, with artists such as Don Omar, Wisin & Yandel, Luny Tunes and Hector El Father leading the way.
