Janet Locks Down Times Square with "Discipline" (Part 1)
It’s hard to believe it was 7:00 in the morning.
The numbing cold froze the line, which spanned close to three city blocks as they anxiously awaited the iconic Janet – “'Miss Jackson' if you’re nasty”. Fans traveled from all corners of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and even Ohio to experience the living legend for her Good Morning America taping.

As Good Morning America cameras traveled up and down the line embracing Nokia Theater, shivering Janet disciples invented cheers every time the cameras began to roll. “When I say Janet, you say Jackson!: Janet! Jackson! Janet! Jackson!” was the crowd favorite.
By 7:30, fans raided the Nokia Theater, waving the CD they purchased the night before at the Virgin Megastore in order to gain access to this exclusive event. The stage was decorated with a larger than life image of Janet from her new 10th studio album Discipline, along with a lit replica bubble dome from the video for her hit single “Feedback”. TV screens lined the venue with footage from backstage as even security guards eagerly watched Janet in make-up, hoping that 8:30AM would arrive more sooner than later.

At 8:30 sharp, the curtains opened to Janet clad in a high cut suit with a leather obi belt performing “Feedback.” Her hair was a similar shade to her Janet days, which added an appropriate touch of nostalgia as Janet transitioned from “Feedback” to “That’s the Way Love Goes.” Fans sang along word for word while Janet gyrated and slithered across the lit stage like time stood still. She closed her performance with “Rock With U” and, following the show, Good Morning America anchor Sam Champion asked Janet if the song was a dedication to Michael. “No,” she replied. “This is my song. It’s about me.”
It sure is, Miss Jackson.
