Colbie's Coming To Town
Colbie Caillat is certainly keeping herself busy this holiday season. Her holiday track, “Mistletoe”, was released yesterday, 11/27. In addition to her holiday track, Colbie will be performing at the KKRZ Christmas Show in Portland, Oregon on 12/3 as well as the KBKS Christmas Show in Seattle Washington on 12/4. On 12/12, Colbie will headline the annual Christmas in Washington Benefit Show which is slated to air on TNT.
Colbie Caillat, a Universal Republic Records newcomer, continues her ascension as music’s breakthrough artist development story of the year, with her smash debut album Coco hitting the 1 million mark this week, fresh off a sizzling return to the Billboard Top Ten two weeks ago. Her soaring first single “Bubbly,” which logged the #6 spot on MTV’s signature countdown show this week (she is featured on the flagship show on November 9), has become the grassroots phenomenon hit of the year – a VH1 You Oughta Know favorite and currently their #1 video, with the hit cable show exalting her ‘knack for capturing complex emotions in simple verse.’
Her soothing style has hit a nerve with audiences all over the world, with the Malibu singer/songwriter chalking up an impressive rookie resume of unprecedented 2007 milestones, including: A record-breaking #1 debut on iTunes’ coveted Albums Chart within hours of Coco’s release in late-July; an eye-opening #5 debut on its first go-around on the Billboard Top Ten; multiple chart and sales milestones for her #1 smash single “Bubbly” - #1 at Triple A and Hot AC, top 5 at Top 40; close to 90 million in radio audience; more than 250,000 friends now connected with her world-famous MySpace site, which first brought attention to the then unsigned-Colbie’s alluring presence, launching her amazing journey only months ago.
