Angels and Airwaves to Embark on Headlining Tour in ‘08
With their highly-anticipated sophomore release I-Empire (Suretone/Geffen Records) hitting stores, Angels And Airwaves have announced a headlining tour to support the album.
I-Empire is the eagerly-awaited follow-up to the band’s now GOLD debut, We Don’t Need To Whisper, and according to frontman Tom DeLonge, “is the second half of our first album. It reflects an idea that the world is yours for the taking, and all that exists, exists inside you. It can be a something as trivial as a personal struggle, or as grand as the inescapable idea of world peace.”
The 24-date North American tour will kick off Feb. 1 in Dallas, TX, and wrap March 8, in Seattle, WA. Joining Angels And Airwaves on the road are special guests Meg & Dia, The Color Fred & Ace Enders (complete list of tour dates below).
The first single from I-Empire, “Everything’s Magic,” is currently No. 15 on the Modern Rock Chart, with the video in rotation at FUSE, MTV2, MTVU, MTVHits, The N, and Music Choice. On Thursday, November 15th, DeLonge and guitarist David Kennedy will appear on MTV’s TRL for a “First Look” premiere for “Everything’s Magic.” Upon the launch of the video, AVA performed on FUSE’S, “Steven’s Untitled Rock Show” and “The Sauce” and peaked at #1 on their “No. 1 Countdown Rock” show.
AVA’s “Making of the Everything’s Magic” video has topped 4 million plays on their MySpace homepage, and was the No. 1 most-played video clip on MySpace in the month of October. On AOL Radio’s Alternative/Rock Chart,
“Everything’s Magic” continues to soar, reaching #17 this week.
I–Empire was written and performed by Angels and Airwaves and produced by Tom DeLonge. The band is front man Tom DeLonge, guitarist David Kennedy, bassist Matt Wachter, and drummer Atom Willard.
